ladyofavalon77: (LL (Against All Odds))

Well, when I first saw tonight’s TV schedule, I freaked. Dancing with the Stars Results show at 9? And I go to church from 7 to 9 each Wednesday? No DVR? How will I be able to tape it? I like it have it back to back on one tape. Have no fear, because it won’t stay here. Tuesday nights is the real result show night and I don’t have anything on those nights. So let’s first discuss what happened.

Church service was AWESOME and we didn’t miss much of Bionic Woman!

That’s all for now!

ladyofavalon77: (AR (Saying Goodbye))

Fortunately, only two things to watch. I would go crazy if it was as nuts as Monday. Still I missed out seeing a show called Reaper. Ray Wise (Vice President Gardner in Day Five of 24) play the devil in Reaper. The previews look funny. He has that perfect sense of humor to pull it off but still looking quite devious. I miss him on 24. Anyways, on with the show.

Now THIS show has captured my attention after looking at it more carefully. The website really nails down each of the characters involved and it’s good old fashioned family drama but with an edge of danger which I love. It did not disappoint.

I hope we get more scenes with Hector and Rita. They really steal the show when they’re on!

ladyofavalon77: (Prison Break (Romance of Origami))

Or so they say…but too many choices can drive you crazy. DOES EVERY NETWORK WANT TO DRIVE US OUT OF OUR MIND WHILE WE PICK WHICH SHOW TO WATCH? Mondays are pure heck! Anyways, let the reviews begin! Let’s go alphabetical by network J

First up, let’s dance with ABC.

Dancing With The Stars (Ep 5.1 Ladies Foxtrot and Cha Cha) )

Then CBS had this one show to offer.

CSI Miami Ep 6.1 Dangerous Son )

Fox wasn’t far behind with some good old drama.

Prison Break Ep 3.2 FireWater )

NBC had the most to offer with these three.

Chuck Pilot, Heroes Premiere, and Journeyman Pilot )

Phew! That was a long post but Mondays always are. I’m so glad I have something to write about now *squeee* I hope I find a new fandom among all these choices. See you tomorrow for Cane and Dancing with the Stars!

ladyofavalon77: (CM (This is how much I love you))

I'm trying to have this week and the following weeks filled up with entries :) At any rate, nothing to report on the home or work front :D The only show I watched today was Dancing With the Stars because House hasn't been that exciting for me. I think it's due to Second Life which has so much taken over that I'm now going to compete in a fashion model competition. A YEAR'S worth of free clothes!! Who can say no to that? Unfortunately, Live Journal suffers...those who stay with me, I love you lots!! I'm trying to keep updated with you guys :D

Now a few thoughts on The Last King of Scotland.

So let’s see where we are with poems…When You Are Old by William Butler Yeats. It’s so nostalgic. I love how the writer tells the reader to remember him when she is at the end of her life and how he loved the beauty of her soul over the beauty of her face. That’s the way I like to think Charles thought of Martha. Even if she became disfigured later in life, he would still love her because they’re soul mates *wink*

And that's that! On to the other entries for the rest of the week :) Wish me luck in completing them!

ladyofavalon77: (NK (Alway on my mind))
I tried and again was swept into Second Life so I'm going to give up the fight and just post on the weekends hehe.  So a little recap of the week's events.  We have new people training so it means more time on the teller line.  Blah!  Hopefully they'll be ready soon and I can get back to what I like.  My grandmother took a nasty fall last week and they did a MRI and found a growth. It looks like she won't make it through the month.  I'm not too worried because we've never been close and she's been dying from diabetes for awhile. I do feel for my Mom though.  Pray for us!  Speaking of family, my Dad got on my case about driving too fast.  ONLY because he drives too slow.  Whatever!  Parents...can't live with them...can't live without them.  Pfft!

Now on to something I want to talk about...Dancing with the Stars and 24!!

Now what is Jack Bauer up to?  And is that Karen with Noah Daniels I see?

So that my dear friends is all from me tonight.  If you feel in a naughty mood, check out this's to my latest Noah/Karen fan fic hehe.  Enjoy!  Next up an explanation of the icons and quotes you picked out of my profile :)  Talk to you later!  One last thing!! I'm going to hopefully see Gregory Itzin at a golf game on Saturday!!!! *squeeeeeeee* Wish me luck!

And THAT'S how you win an Emmy Nomination!

ladyofavalon77: (CM (The End of Everything))

I could NOT believe who came back on the results show of Dancing With The Stars. I’ll give you one hint…Season Two…Celebrity who made it to the final three. As if the title isn’t enough to give it away *giggles* Thankfully I don’t think many on my flist watch so I’m not spoiling them. If you haven’t seen the results show, go home and watch! You won’t be disappointed!

Anyone a doctor on board this doomed flight to…well, let’s just say the US.

And then there was dancing….

Ok this week’s poem is kind of strange because it talks of someone going through love three times but it’s on the list. So here goes. What’s really ironic is that I think that Charles and Martha gave each other times of laughter, times of tears, and times of silence so in a funny why they are the first, second and third loves all at one time J

So if you see a different interpretation of the poem, please share!  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Everything is going exactly to plan...Operation: Meltdown has begun...

ladyofavalon77: (CM (Betrayal and Love))
Don't ask and I won't tell...if you do, I won't be able to help myself! Since I'm a fan of many shows, you won't know which one and I can let out my excitement but still be mysterious :) Ok, for some reason, I wasn't feeling well at work and let it show. I did apologize afterwards and felt better after a Tylenol. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow because it’s just me and the assistant manager until 9:30. Don’t you just love the pressure!

First up for review comes straight from the ballroom J
Dancing With The Stars: Paso Doble and Waltz )

Now on to some other matters relating to madness and mayhem.
24 (Ep 6.17 10 to 11 PM) )
So those lyrics I was talking about…

I've Cried Enough by Lara Fabian )
If only the writers had followed this and shown a stronger, more stable Martha. We know Jean could have done it…they just needed to write it J Best part about this song…she still admits love was there, just like there was love in the Logan marriage once upon a time J

I might smile and stand with you, Charles but I will never forgive you...

ladyofavalon77: (CM (Know That I'm Here For You))

Once again being short staffed at work is no fun!! Why can’t people just stay put! You don’t get any breaks, you’re doing the work of five people without the reward, I need another vacation! Maybe I can use my sick days…I have a ton saved up *giggles* Well at least I have a half day tomorrow. Thank goodness for small favors :D

So it looks like Cuddy is pretty good in her own right!

So for poetry today we have “A Red, Red Rose” by Robert Burns. Quite fitting for my favorite pair. It tells of a man who will love a woman despite all obstacles. I do believe that fits Charles this season. I still can’t believe the writers made him into such a
romantic figure. I’m certainly not looking a gift horse in the mouth! Best part of the poem: “And fare thee well, my only luve!”

I wish I could write poetry and post them here each week J

You should have listened to me, nothing but a long life in prison awaits you...

ladyofavalon77: (Charles (You Light Up My Life))

Ok with all these changes in my favorite shows it's great to know I can rely on one to make me happy hour after hour! Dancing with the Stars has returned and it's better than ever!! Oh I love this show so much it's crazy!! I just finished watching the second half of the two week competition before they kick someone off and they are all so good. Where can I start taking ballroom dance classes?

Now back to what I really want to talk about...Ballroom Dancing!

Then there was a soldier, a disease, and a House/Cuddy showdown.

Why is it so hard to find good poetry nowadays? It seems everyone prefers this post modernist crap that is not elegantly worded and beautifully expressed like the words of Byron and Shelley.  I mean check out the poem below and it could not have been more beautifully written.  I know I's just an art :) However, falling in love makes so much more sense when the person you love pens lines like these...I wonder if Charles is a good writer...

"Nothing in the world is single"...I like that...I also love the author's use of metaphors.  *happy sigh*  It's a wonderful day!

You're not supposed to be here...You're supposed to be in China!!

ladyofavalon77: (Charles (Presidential Argument))
Family decided to clear out the garage today but I managed to skirt those duties. I despise house cleaning of any sort...EXCEPT if it’s my’ room. I like to organize the things I have but I have to be in the right mood for that. Today I was not in the mood hehe. For lunch, my brother and I went to Zaxby’s and I had the Wings N Things which was pretty good. I LOVE their Texas toast J

So TV wise I just watched a tape of the Dancing With The Stars Dance off between John O’Hurley and Kelly Monaco. John is the reason I fell in love with the show in the first place. He’s charming, amusing, and elegant. The closest thing to a modern day Fred Astaire. His chemistry with Charlotte is from the old days of Hollywood musicals. However, after seeing Kelly dance again, I can see why she won. She’s just a little more gutsy than John and she learns REALLY fast. I’m not so bitter anymore. I loved John’s waltz and rumba…the freestyle…not so much J

So in closing I still need to write some fan fiction and work on the Martha/Charles mood theme.  I just keep getting distracted :P

This is everything I've known...everything I've been...everyone I've loved...

ladyofavalon77: (Charles (Name in Lights))

After having a pretty bad couple days, something good was bound to turn up and I'm glad it presented itself in the writing department.  I tried to hammer out a few more paragraphs for Chapter 15 of If I Should Lose You and ended up finishing it altogether :)  So now just some proof reading and touch ups before publishing it at the yahoo group :)  I really like how I was able to capture the arguments on boths sides of what was wrong with the Logan marriage.  The scene is just rife with tension and pain that it's a great read if you love these two characters.  Oh it's so much fun to write when it comes easily like this!!

Now that it's Thursday I'm able to finally post one of the best interviews I've read about Jean and Greg in a long time.  First of all, it's a joint interview so they get to interact with each other.  But most importantly of all, they hint at working together in future a play.  Oh I would so go see them in NY!! Maybe I could get an autograph or two *winks*  Thanks to [profile] clementine_lime for pointing this out to me first!

Whatever happens...whatever you see...don't cry for me...this is not the end...

ladyofavalon77: (Charles (Power Play))
Well, yesterday was a big day in American politics and me being the political scientist that I am, there must be some discussion of what went down last night *grin*

Thoughts on TV Shows next.  We have Heroes, CSI: Miami, Dancing With The Stars, and House to discuss :)  Oh and the best Jean Smart movie ever...Audrey's Rain!

Ok time for the lyrical showcase and this time I chose two songs by Christina Aguilera.  The first one is called Love Will Find A Way and I love how it shows how relationships go through ups and downs.  When reading these lyrics, I think of the love between Martha and Charles in its most idealistic form where they won't let politics, the press, or the presidency destroy the wonderful marriage they've built over the years.  In other words, no matter what happens hang on and I'll be there for you...just give me time to reach you :)

And this next song is called We're A Miracle.  The Logans certainly are a miracle considering their VERY different personalities.  I mean a woman like Martha would have married a guy like David Palmer.  I don't know how Charles was able to capture her heart but I'm glad he did because what they create on screen is magic :)  What I really like about the song is how it says how unlikely the match was by the world's standards but somehow it happened.  If only it could have stayed that way...

And that's all folks!  I'm thinking these every other day posts aren't working out since I have so much to say on TV shows and movies hmmm.  Well I still like the small breaks in between so I can write stories, make icons, or just goof off so the plan stays...for now :)

I am now in a world where I have to hide my heart
And what I believe in but somehow I will show the world
What's inside my heart and be loved for who I am..

ladyofavalon77: (Martha (Spying on You))
I've decided to take every other month off from posting so that I can become more active in my LJ communities.  What does this mean exactly?  Well, instead of posting every day I'll be posting every other day every other month.  So for November it will be every other day but for December it will be everyday and so on and so forth :)  Boy do I love schedules when everything lines up :)  Just call me crazy!

So first let's start off with the wonderful news!! My 24 calendar finally came in today and it was SOOOOOO worth it.  [personal profile] xandra73 already told me that there were lots of great pictures and I couldn't be happier.  A whole month devoted to Charles and a whole month to Martha.  I'm in fandom heaven!! And best of all, there are pictures on the calendar I haven't seen ANYWHERE ELSE.  For example, there's one picture with Charles and Walt Cummings where he puts his hand on Walt's shoulder and they're smiling.  Then there's one with Charles and Martha on the couch and he's holding her hand.  I also saw some candids of Martha and Charles with the Suvarovs.  What I'm most excited about is a picture of them filming Martha walking back to the retreat with Evelyn as well as a shot with Martha leaning over the dead body of Walt Cummings (there's a story here I'm sure and I hope the Season Five DVD's show what it is).  I can't believe that the 24 calendar ended up being better than the 24: Behind the Scenes Book LOL!

Now a short post on the TV shows I saw Tuesday and Wednesday.  Dancing With The Stars won out for both nights in my book.  Great little numbers by these stars who have really become professionals.  My prediction that Monique would go home turned out to be true and Emmit rocked the house like always.  He's the one I hope that wins though Mario has won by technique alone.  He's just not as entertaining to watch as Emmitt.  Wouldn't it be cool if Cheryl Burke won Dancing with the Stars TWO TIMES IN A ROW!! That would make her the best choreographer EVER :)  OK I'm calm...REALLY :)  I saw House on Tuesday as well and was quite amused by the main star's antics.  The Cuddy/House relationship is fascinating and I'm going to keep a close eye thanks to [personal profile] crashandburn for showing me the way :)  David Morse is the perfect foil for House and can't wait to see what he has in store for our good doctor next!  Then last night was Lost and The Nine.  Sad to say, I've only seen Lost because I taped The Nine and haven't seen it yet though I heard it was a great episode.  Lost was just too predictable and I was kind of confused by the whole thing.  Though Jack and Juliet as a couple are growing on me.  I DEFINITELY want to see more the Suns...I am SO shipping them :)

And that's enough of real life, time to post my weekly news piece.  I've been scouring Google news for recent articles on my favorite duo but no luck...or at least nothing of real interest so I have fell back on gleaning some gems from a few months back before and during filming of Season Five.  Plenty to mine from and many that have yet to be touched on.  Therefore I give you this lovely jewel that has a cute snippet on Martha.  I love the different ways they describe her as First Lady and especially love it when they predicted her part would be significant because of the actress she is.  That is SO true!! Hail to Jean Smart and her great acting partner Gregory Itzin :)

If you have a better plan, speak up now before I embarrass myself.

ladyofavalon77: (Martha (It's Over Now))

Still reeling from the excitement of the 24 trailer!! Is this next season going to be awesome or what?  I love how all the websites that I frequent are now coming alive with the 24 goodness.  Woot for a second wind of inspiration!!  Tonight's shows were interesting: Dancing with the Stars had their elimination results and Jerry Springer went home.  It was sad but expected.  I'm going to miss the Jerrmeister.  He was so darn entertaining and could dance a step or two.  Who doesn't love Jerry after watching Dancing with the Stars?  I taped Lost and The Nine so more on that later.  For now, I'm going to vote Emmit Smith all the way.  The man has style when he dances and can do both Ballroom and Latin without looking boringly perfect.  I heart Emmit!

So I've been listening to my Bryan Adams CD called The Best of Me while driving to work and have found lots of good Martha/Charles songs.  Therefore, here are two I really like for the couple.  This first one is my idealized version of their relationship (again!!) where Charles says he's coming back to her even though he knows he has hurt her in the past.  I really like how the singer says he'll give it up all to return to the woman he loves.  I only wish Charles would do the same...then again I did write a story where he DID give up the presidency to take care of Martha *grin*

All I Want Is You by Bryan Adams )

The next song has a similar theme...I guess I'm in a forgiveness mood.  Basically the person singing realizes the mistake he's made and is asking for the girl to forgive him.  He knows he's missed up and just wants to be near her again.  So sad to see but beautiful to hear.

Coming Home by Bryan Adams )

I know I've done alot of things wrong...but what I couldn't live if I've hurt you...

ladyofavalon77: (CM (Please Cheer Up Martha))
I mean the TV stations really need to stop this. Yesterday was CRAZY with Dancing with the Stars, Jericho, Criminal Minds, Justice, Kidnapped, and CSI: NY.  I could only taped three and therefore lost out on the other three because a piece of fan fiction really inspired me so I had to keep writing.

Dancing with the Stars Recap )

Favorite show of the new season: Dancing with the Stars!

All other TV shows! )

Fan Fiction writing is the ultimate catharsis ESPECIALLY when your favorite characters are done with their story arc on the small screen.

Fan Fiction takes a different turn... )

And today is news day so let me direct your attention to this WONDERFUL article on Gregory Itzin.  Thanks to a friend (you know who you are *wink) for directing my attention this way.   She knows me so well :)

GREAT news story on Greg :) )

Ok now why do I get the feeling that Martha is playing Charles when she holds Evelyn's arms like this...

ladyofavalon77: (Martha (Hold Me In Your Arms))

It's that time of year again! And boy was it a wonderful two hours. I thought I might be disappointed because there weren't any really big names out there but I was so more ways than one. First, they did a whole revamp of the set and it has honest to goodness chandelier and a balcony on both sides of the dance floor. They're getting snazzy!

Dancing With The Stars (Ep 3.1a The Cha Cha and The Foxtrot) )

Now back to Martha and Charles. I wonder if Greg or Jean would go on Dancing With The Stars...Nah! Too cheesy for them hehe. Though Greg's facial expressions would be HILARIOUS! And Jean would have so much fun cracking jokes in the holding room. Aaah they would be the life of the party. And before I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEAN!! I would have forgotten if it wasn't for [profile] illusory_thrill and [profile] whenidream. Thanks guys :) I hope I age as gracefully. After seeing so many pictures of attractive women in their forties, I'm convinced it's the best age to be. I can't wait till I'm 40!!!!!!!

Today is normally reserved for song lyrics so let me see what I can rustle up for this post. *thinks real hard and lightbulb appears*

Song Lyrics for Martha/Charles )

How do I know you're not lying to me...
