More Driving Around, No Amusement Yet
It's Sunday and no church since our local one is miles away from here. I was able to sleep in to a nice decent hour and then check out the cable channels we have. Nothing real exciting on TV that I hadn't seen before but it's fun to channel surf! I also was on the prowl for a computer room at this resort. The front desk said there was one and by gosh I was going to find it. Too many journal posts I needed to keep up with!
Once again brother and father decided to be couch potatoes while Mom and I went to scout out the lay of the land. I was also on the lookout for the latest issue of the Entertainment Weekly. Supposedly there was a 24 insert that was too good to pass up. Profiles on Bill and Karen! *squees* Last night we went to Wal-Mart and they didn't even have the magazine. Today we went to Super Target and I was sure they would. Wrong again! All they had was last week's issue...am I doomed forever to never get this issue until I come home later this week? At any rate, last night I bought a case for my portable DVD player so I don't have to carry it around in a shopping bag, a starter kit for my PSP that includes a memory chip (Boy are the graphics good on that baby! We need to get a LCD TV so all movies will show up that way :)), and the TV Guide magazine so we'll know what's on this week but more importantly it has an article on 24. Anything about my favorite series I'm buying these days :) At Target, I gave in and bought these cute Valentine bears that had on outfits from the Victorian period. They were so cute with little pink envelopes in their hands that I had to buy them. I love matching sets. We almost stopped at Gamestop but Mom wanted to get back for dinner. No word on the computer room yet (I'm typing this entry after the fact when we actually found it hehe).
Since it's Sunday, we also watched a new episode of Brothers and Sisters: Family Day (1.11).
It was really funny because my Mom started watching it with me and kept asking if she was like Sally Fields but we promised her it was nothing like that. I LOVED how everyone came to Justin about their family problems and wouldn't leave the poor guy alone. He IS lovable but he wants to be accepted like everyone else and have them yell at him. Awwww. Sarah continues to be a big pain in the butt but I love Holly more and more. How cool was it that she went into the board meeting with those folders and kicked Sally's butt. That was just all sorts of awesomeness :) That tape Sally sent to Justin while he was overseas was so sweet and something to live up to. I so hated Kevin for wigging out about the gay rights thing. Let it rest, man! She's just working for him. Though it was funny when it was discovered that Rob Lowe has a gay brother hehe. His scenes with Kitty reminded me so much of West Wing. Bottom Line: Nora really needs to get a job so she'll stop harassing the kids hehe.
More time for TV and 24 of course :)
This time it was episodes 5.13 and 5.14. Now it's time to see how everyone likes small, well lit but very confined spaces. I really like how all the drama played out in the conference room now that everyone was forced to be in that one area together. Poor Bill...all alone upstairs. Jack holding his breath as he goes outside to check something was ludicrous...he should have been killed by the gas but this is 24 and, as Kiefer is fond of saying, all a fantasy :) Chloe's grief over Edgar's death was great and everyone getting upset about what was the best thing to do was comical when Chloe finally said "Ok, I'm back. You can stop now." Hehe, great sense of humor, she has :) Karen makes her first appearance *squees* Unfortunately I DID see a ring on her finger but my brother came up with a great way to justify it. She's a widow! The attack on the Pentagon during 9/11 killed her husband and she entered the field of Homeland Security to honor his memory and she wears the ring for the exact same reason :) I love it I love it I love it!
For 5.14, it's time for Homeland Security to take over and the appearance of my other favorite character...Miles Papazian...Why oh why do I like characters like him and Logan, I will never know...but it sure makes life interesting :) Unfortunately, Tony died in the last few minutes of the previous episode and Jack's face as he hold him in his arms is so heartbreaking. Say goodbye to one of the last original cast members *cries* Martha finally tells Logan her suspicions of Gardner and how he's using Charles to further his own ambitions. Logan is still skeptical about this. Karen and Bill start working together but it's not the best of times as Karen reveals to Bill that Homeland is absorbing CTU and makes him promise not to tell anyone. The confrontations between Miles and Chloe begin and it's so much fun to watch. Also a little romance between Theo and Collette...their time onscreen is so short but you can tell they loved each other. Karen yelling at Jack was great and Jack's doublecross couldn't have been any better than how it played out. Poor Theo! Now Wayne calls Aaron about meeting with him about something concerning David and is attacked. I liked Aaron's interactions with Wayne...it made him seem stronger and more likable...well, Aaron would do that with anyone :) My question: how did they know Wayne was coming? The Secret Service only told the VP...did they also tell Logan or did Graham have moles inside the Secret Service like Adams?

How could this all fall apart? I was so careful to plan each and every move? How could it fail?
