So the Academy Awards were tonight...

And I completely forgot that the show would replace Brothers and Sisters.  So here I am fooling around on the computer until 10 PM and then rush over to the TV to see Brothers and Sisters only to find it's not on.  I really need to get my times straight :D  At any rate, I went to church today and it just wasn't that great.  The pastor was going of about money again and the worship leader was missing.  Things came to a head with my parents and they're officially leaving.  It's time...Mom tried to stay for those close to her that attend but you need to go where you're being celebrated and right now we're just being tolerated.  I really don't mind because there were some things about the church that bugged me a lot.  Now I don't need to worry :)

Finally went to Chinese class.  It had been two weeks!!  And how I missed it.  Now we have an actual textbook with ALL the pages we need for our lessons.  Today we learned to count to five and to write basic Chinese numbers.  It was a lot of fun and I actually got some things right.   Too bad we're going to miss some classes because of a church service in a faraway town.  I'm REALLY enjoying learning a language that is part of my heritage!  Can't wait till next week!

Well, Brothers and Sisters wasn't on and I only saw a smidgen of the Academy Awards (All I have to say is that Jennifer Hudson can SING!!  I also really liked how different the three Dream Girls were with one being beautiful but ok voice, one being pretty but has a good voice too, and one being ugly but a GREAT voice).  However, what I did end up watching was three more episodes of Magnum P.I.  I'm really getting addicted to it.  They fit so much in for that one hour and the chemistry between Magnum and Higgins is priceless!!

Ok, first up was "No Need To Know" (Episode 1.5) and I really liked the IRA angle.  A British general is staying at the Robin Masters Estate because of a trial going on involved in the IRA terrorist group.  There are also two stewardesses there.  I have to say I immediately suspected the girl who said she had been to Dublin before because it seemed kind of convenient since the general had something to do with the general in that situation.  At any rate, it was well played and I liked seeing her turn on Magnum at the end.

Then "Skin Deep" (Episode 1.6) dealt with an actress who took her own life by shotgun.  It was supposed to be part of a movie but it ended up being for real.  You know what was funny?  Seeing her agent and recognizing Sheriff Metzger from Murder, She Wrote.  *giggles*  Anyways Magnum ends up having flashbacks and finds the girl alive and well on a deserted island (don't ask me how!)  Of course, Magnum paid a very stiff price with Higgins to help him confirm that the shotgun would have blew the head off completely rather than just leave gaping wounds.  For two weeks, he's barred from the main house and the recreational facilities :D

Finally, I watched "Never Again, Never Again" (Episode 1.7).  Now THIS one was back in fine form with nice twists and double twists.  First there is this Jewish couple that Magnum and Rick really like.  Someone snatches her husband and she reveals that there are Nazi's out to get Saul because of his position in the Mossad.  Magnum insists she stays at Robin's Nest where Higgins takes a shine to the old lady.  Then when the hit team comes for her, Higgins is shot and Magnum drives up just in time.  After seeing the preview, I thought it was serious but it ended up being a tranquilizer dart.  The concern on Magnum's face was worth it though! The best part was the revelation that the couple was really from Germany and members of the Nazi party.   The hit men were Mossad!

So what website do I have for you today?  Well if you're a Jack Bauer fan, you'll love this.  Jack Facts!

When a convicted terrorist was sentenced to face Jack Bauer, he appealed to have the sentence reduced to death.

Enjoy!

Remembering happier times....
