On The Road To Orlando :)

Well, it was a long trip to Orlando, Florida but it was nice to be off for a weak from work.  No mind numbing tasks to complete...no forced cross selling to worry about...just smooth sailing till the end of next week!  I brought plenty of things to do because I knew we had a long drive ahead but found myself sleeping and talking with my family most of the way.  I did find time to squeeze in another two episodes of 24 Season Five.  I HAD to bring my discs with me so I could finish them off before the Day Six premiere!

I had a turkey sub sandwich at Quizno's and then we had a small disaster in the car when the window cleaner spilled all over the backseat.  We had to actually pull over to dump the bag out which had an inch of that liquid inside.  What a mess!  But at least the car smelled fresh and clean!  By the time, we got to the room, my Dad was tired from driving and he and my brother decided to crash in front of the TV.  However, I was hungry and wanting to go out and explore this new place we found ourselves in. Fortunately I found a ready companion in Mom and we headed out to see what restaurants we could find.  First stop: Cracker Barrel.  I love breakfast food late at night so we had some pancakes, hashbrown casserole, and eggs with cheese.

Ok, time for reviews on 24 Episodes 5.11 and 5.12 ( I LOVE watching them two at a time...it's like a mini movie :)  For 5.11, it was nice to see the Martha/Aaron scene when she tells Aaron that Charles not only knew about the motorcade attack but gave the terrorists the route.  I love Pierce's suspicious glance over at Logan when he passes him by later on.  Tony's discovery of Michelle's death is so heartbreaking...and he does it so well.  Great delivery as an actor!  I also like Logan's approach to Martha's room as he builds up steam to let her have it since her behavior raised flags with the Russian President.  Then he's stopped completely by Evelyn.  *giggles*  And oh my gosh! JoBeth Williams is so many kinds of awesome when she swears her husband is not up to anything and then sees the money and then Jack shoots her to get Christopher to talk.  The look on Jack's face when he realizes it won't work is so classic it should be framed somewhere.  I'm also really digging the chemistry between Miriam and Christopher.  They really seem like a long married couple though just being introduced on screen.  Older actors...got to love them :)  Curtis at the hospital played out really well and he's best in action scenes where he doesn't speak!  At any rate, another great episode to watch :)

For 5.12, there was alot going on for just one hour.  We had the set up of the nerve gas attack on CTU, the arrival of Christopher Henderson so he can be grilled for information, the reconciliation of the Logans (my favorite part of course), and the appearance of the Vice President, and of course Kim Bauer coming on the scene.  Though I disliked Lynn's sister and her boyfriend, I felt a little sorry when they were shot in the back of the head...a life is still a life.  Kim's arrival at CTU really set up some great dynamics (thought I detest the character and actress very deeply).  First it provided a way for Henderson to taunt Jack and get in some good lines that really could get under his skin.  Then Audrey had to tell her the news that Jack was alive and then Jack had to try to explain why he didn't tell her all this time.  I was still ticked when she didn't hug the poor guy after all he's been through but that's Kim for you.  Poor Carrie...she only comes back to work to be stabbed by the terrorist setting up the gas in the bowels of CTU and Poor Edgar for caring enough about her to look into it and ending up dying himself.  Sad sad sad :(  On a happy note, I loved seeing the VP come on the scene with his already ready to go plan of action and Novick getting worried as the VP throws him suspicious looks.  The actor is quite good as a politician.  I loved Mike's scene with Martha showing that she's nobody's fool and of course...THE scene of the year...of all 24 seasons...when she walks up behind him and placed her hand on his shoulder.  Aaah sheer heaven...so much conveyed without ever breathing a word...more dramas should have these moments :) One irritating thing though...I finally noticed the three holes in his ear when he was talking to Martha and they do distract from the grace and beauty of the moment.  I can see why people were distracted by it when it happened :)

And finally, I'll leave you with some icons I made of Bill and Karen.  No, I'm not leaving my love for the Logans just yet...however, with the new season almost here I have to start shipping a new couple until my favorite couple comes on the scene.  Feel free to use as you see fit!

Thought it's fun here in Florida, I can't wait to get home :)
