"You're lucky...you found your answers"

I REALLY REALLY hate Mondays. There are just too many darn shows to watch…and one of them isn’t even on yet. Fortunately the season finale of Prison Break was today so one less thing to keep track of. More on that later. If you haven’t seen it, please do! Work was heck on earth…don’t want to talk about it…don’t want to discuss it. I have a headache and that should more than explain how bad it was.
Let’s proceed to more cheerful subject matter! Like my wild imagination thinking up alternative Season Five and Season Six storylines. First I have Martha going back to the Retreat in my alternate Season Five a little too early for my sense of real time and recovery from a gunshot to the side but I need her there for what’s about to go down. So I was thinking of a logical explanation for this “sudden” removal from the hospital and then it occurred to me…what if it was a setup? What if Graem wanted to make sure Charles followed through on his end of the deal and arranged this little departure so he could take Martha to an undisclosed location until the time was right to kill her or return her to Charles. It would throw my story completely out of whack but something interesting to think about. Charles AND Aaron working to free her.
Then for the other bunny trail. So! A lot of us are unhappy with the current president and I was thinking…what if Charles hadn’t been behind the events of Day Five and was exonerated. He would still be in office and he would get a chance to show his stronger, good side. We wouldn’t have the stupid Sandra plot…instead Jean Smart would take over that role. I could see her being liberal while Charles is conservative. Walid could be her friend from college. She would get to argue with Charles about civil liberties. This could open all sorts of doors. And the best part? They’d still be married :D I know…not good for M/A fans. However, I would like seeing Martha and Charles confront these terrorist issues. Oh and a bonus! She would get scenes with Karen when Charles is in a coma after the attack :D Double bonus! Charles and Noah confrontation scenes. See? It could work. *giggles*
So on to the reviews!
Well, it was entertaining but it wasn’t astonishing. Here are the highlights (Episode 2.22 “Sona“). Mahone was perfect in all his scenes as he tries to have a happy ending with his family and fails miserably. Lincoln warns him that he should cut all ties because the cancer of his work infects his family. He would know since he lost the one woman he ever loved. Kellerman died! I’m so sad about this. After giving himself up, guys with mask stop his police vehicle and blow him and the guard away with a couple of fast bullets. We don’t see any bodies but his last quote about it being an honor to go before a firing squad and smiling makes me think he’s gone for good *cries* I wanted scenes with him and Caroline.
Then Bellick and T-Bag ended up in the same jail room and it was most entertaining to see these two scumbags circle each other while hissing threats back and forth. Maybe they should work together they play off each other so well. I liked how Michael planted the drugs on the boat so Mahone would get caught and then they end up at SONA together. What the heck is that? And why do they want Michael to break out of it? Almost sounds like they’ve been testing him this whole time. Best part of the episode. Michael’s reunion with Sara. How hot was that outfit she had on! Then she shoots the Asian guy and Michael takes her place in prison because he loves her so much. Their scene in the little hut was great too. Lots of angst and love J
Now on to 24 which I actually enjoyed tonight and lots of little shipper bits to follow.
So this was Episode 6.16 (9 PM to 10 PM) and it actually started off slow. They went into more detail about how the 25th amendment works and I liked it somewhat. I always felt Palmer’s was too rushed. This time we could see the arguments and Tom acting as moderator reminded me of a debate team captain. What was REALLY funny was when he informs the Cabinet of Wayne’s delicate condition where he had to be induced into a coma to save his life. Dude! Telling the viewers this just reminds us how improbably his waking up that quickly really is. Anyways! I REALLY enjoyed the shouting match between Karen and Daniels. Dang if they’re not hot! Though his assistant is growing on me. How could she make the words “perjury” sound so hot and devious is beyond me. I liked how he took her hand to thank her. You know she’s completely smitten with him.
Now for the next strange piece of shipper news. I actually like Nadia with Mike Doyle. I know it’s weird but hear me out. I think Doyle is kind of impressed with how tough Nadia is and then when he quotes the Koran to her and tells her “You’re lucky…you’ve found your answers…I’m still looking for mine.” There was just something in the way he says it that makes me think he likes her. I see more connection there than between her and Bill or her and Milo. Maybe because they’re both tough characters who keep their feelings hemmed in, maybe because guilt is a great thing to play with for what he did to her, or maybe I’m just crazy. Either way I’m shipping Nadia/Mike J Quick side note: Thank you 24 producers for shooting at the Santa Monica Pier. It’s quite lovely this time of night and a new place to put in our 24 canon J
Now on to the best part! Bill and Karen shippyness!!!!! Oh my gosh their phone call. I was like “please say something nice please say something nice” And they did. I loved how she was falling apart but only with him because she feels safe in his presence. Otherwise she must be tough and strong because she’s female and in a position of power. Then the way he reassured her and she thanked him for being there. Then he says “That’s my job.” Guh!! Because he’s her husband and it’s…his job. No words NO WORDS!! Well words because I’m obviously still typing and this post is like pages and pages long but still!! Bill/Karen forever!!!!!!!! Then her truce with Tom and that special smile she reserves for people she admires. “So are you going to tell me the real story later?” “Yeah later” LOL!! She knows Tom got the VP to back down. God is in his heaven and all is right with the world!
Dang if this isn't going to be the length of a novel but I must stick to the schedule. It brings me great satisfaction
Ok lyrics! I was listening to the "Anna and the King” soundtrack and just loving all the rich, poignant melodies involved, especially the execution sequence. However, I had totally forgotten that the love theme would work for Martha and Charles because it’s about loving someone from afar. This would be Season Six…not Five. Plenty of love in Five J Anyways, I like how the lyrics say “how does one waltz away from all the memories How do I not miss you when you are gone” Oh it’s such a good song!
How Can I Not Love You
By Joy Enriquez
Can not touch
Can not hold
Can not be together
Can not love
Can not kiss
Can not have each other
Must be strong, and we must let go
Can not say what our hearts must know
How can I not love you
What do I tell my heart
When do I not want you
Here in my arms
How does one waltz away
From all the memories
How do I not miss you
When you are gone
Can not dream
Can not share
Sweet and tender moments
Can not feel
How we feel
Must pretend its over
Must be brave, and we must go on
Must not say, what we’ve known all along
Hook
Must be brave, and we must be strong
Can not say, what we’ve known all along
So I have no more to say and deep down you’re saying “Thank God!” Come on…you know you’re thinking it after I posted it :D
I'm not worried...that's a fake anyway...you can tell by the "Made In China" etching on the side
You going to shoot me with water, Jack?

Date: 2007-04-03 06:03 am (UTC)Karen/Bill ship was very cute. Reminded me of the good old days of Tony and Michelle shipness. You know, I'm not buying the Nadia and Milo stuff. Milo is in love with her but I doubt she likes him. Nadia and Doyle - now, that's interesting.
Yeah :(

Date: 2007-04-03 02:20 pm (UTC)I have been so worried about the "argument" to come that I was caught off guard last night with their phone call. I was squealing. It was awesome - I couldn't even speak afterwards. I loved how he was protective of her even thru the phone & supportive of her. And she confessed she was "scared" that probably broke Bill's heart - ahhh...I could go on!
LOL np :)
