ladyofavalon77: (CM (This is how much I love you))

I'm trying to have this week and the following weeks filled up with entries :) At any rate, nothing to report on the home or work front :D The only show I watched today was Dancing With the Stars because House hasn't been that exciting for me. I think it's due to Second Life which has so much taken over that I'm now going to compete in a fashion model competition. A YEAR'S worth of free clothes!! Who can say no to that? Unfortunately, Live Journal suffers...those who stay with me, I love you lots!! I'm trying to keep updated with you guys :D

So first who was eliminated? *cries* I know he hasn't been the best dancer since the beginning but there have been moments of glory and he has the physique of a dancer. Joey and Apollo do not. Unfortunately it was his time to go L What was great is that Ian did get some 10’s before leaving…that’s all he wanted anyway. However, it would have been wonderful if he made it to the finals. I had finally gotten behind him and he’s gone. I just don’t really care for who’s left.

Laila had some potential but now she’s just resting on her laurels…no creativity whatsoever. Apollo has plenty of creativity and charisma but he doesn’t look like a dancer and his shoulders are kind of small. Joey is funny and entertaining but he can’t do a serious dance to save his life and it’s always HIS mark on the dance instead of getting into the spirit of the dance itself. I’ll still watch because I love this show but I really don’t care who wins at this point.

Now a few thoughts on The Last King of Scotland.

Ok, if you have a weak stomach and cannot stand the smallest torture scene, don’t watch this movie. I’ve seen some bad things like ripping out a person’s fingernails in Syriana and a few others but what they did to the Scottish guy in this one was too horrifying for words. I didn’t actually see it but I heard it and I saw the metal hooks that they put into his skin. I wanted to throw up…seriously! Now other than that, the movie was great!

Forest Whitaker deserves all his accolades. He could turn hot then cold at the drop of a hat. His accent was spot on and he had a wonderful commanding presence. You felt sympathetic for his character until you saw the evil path he started to go down as the corruption grew and the paranoia doubled. I really felt bad for the doctor who saved the Scottish doctor’s life despite not caring for him one bit. Great movie…over the top in graphic violence.

So let’s see where we are with poems…When You Are Old by William Butler Yeats. It’s so nostalgic. I love how the writer tells the reader to remember him when she is at the end of her life and how he loved the beauty of her soul over the beauty of her face. That’s the way I like to think Charles thought of Martha. Even if she became disfigured later in life, he would still love her because they’re soul mates *wink*

And that's that! On to the other entries for the rest of the week :) Wish me luck in completing them!
