It's happening again!

The love for my fandom is cooling down...I think it's because a) I don't have many people to talk with and b) I have nothing new to fuel the fire. The good news: The trailer for 24 Season Six will be up on Oct 24 and will hopefully renew my fervor.  The bad news: It probably will not have Charles Logan in it :(  From all the spoilers I'm reading and just using common sense, I'm thinking he will be confined to a few scenes and a throwaway line on Martha's whereabouts.  Darn her mental instability!! She'd make a great politician.  Oh well, I'll have to return to the world of fan fic and all its possibilities.  And of course start honing my graphic design skills.  When will I just sit down and explore the possibilities of Paintshop and Photoshop instead of puttering around and procrastinating.  I need a good kick in the pants!

Slight bunny trail: I finally saw an episode of Stargate: Atlantis last night because a fellow LJ user has been making graphics and relaying the praises of the character of Elizabeth Weir. And guess what?  SHE WAS RIGHT!! This woman reminds me of Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager.  She's strong, capable, and has so many layers.  It will be on again tonight at 12 am so I'll tune in once more.  Thanks,cnnjunky , for pointing me in the direction of this show.  All the characters were entertaining but I really like Elizabeth :)

Oh! And here is the website for the week.  A great site for news stories on 24 from Season 1 to Season 6.  Now beware...there are annoying popup ads but if you like to read various news sources on 24 then this site is right up your ally.

I hate when fandom starts to cool down. It's the worst feeling, especially when you know it's happening and there's nothing you can do about it.

I know :( It's so sad but I guess the best thing to do is step away for a little bit to let it draw me in again. Martha/Charles are still my favorite couple ever but I don't feel that overwhelming-must-write-fic-must-icons/graphics that I had before. Though I love the new shows out this fall, none of the couples fire me up like M/C did. Hopefully I"m just going through a blah stage :(

That's usually the worst. Meh. It's an awful feeling. :( I'm so glad I just have to suffer through it every five or six years since I'm usually on a long-term relationships with my fandoms. I'm not looking forward to it when it will happen with 24. Thank god that's FAR away for me at the moment. =D

The good news is that my 24 fandom is still going strong and still can't wait for the new season to start (your icon expresses my sentiments exactly). However, I'm finding the limits of my love as I try to keep the fandom for M/C alive. Maybe I just need a few days apart to rekindle the fire.

True. And who knows? Maybe they parts will be bigger than expected. They are still shooting the season, who knows what may happen. But it's difficult to keep them in the storyline. Fingers crossed! :)

Well, I won't hold my breath for it. I'm all for a new beginning and for new characters. But if they find a way to include him, it will be worth it. They hinted more than once that he isn't dead and it sounded like they are trying to keep their options open.

Yeah I'm not holding my breath either. I'm going into Season 7 thinking no Charles but hopefully Bill :) Got to love Bill! However, isn't it strange how this new villian is modeled after Charles? In a way? Freaky!

Oh and I'd love to have Liev Schrieber on the show!

The cooling of the fandom - never nice. I've only ever been into a few programs big time but when the interest started to fade, well, not a nice feeling at all, indeed I felt ever so slightly guilty about it.

And you're so right! As the fervor dies and it becomes just a comfortable friendship without the fire and spice of first love, I do feel guilty about it. Maybe it's not a good thing to love something so much. I'm hoping Itzin's scenes in Season Six will fire something up in me. Or I could return to normal life *giggles*

You know, doing a quick scroll, a lot, actually most, of your posts haven't shown up on my flist. *stabs LJ* It's very odd that only a few have appeared - LJ is a fickle thing! Sorry :)

On the fandom issue - well, there's the DVDs to look forward and the goodies that come with that. That might stoke the fandom fire until January at least.

Yeah, I understand - I'm hoping that things will pick up once the show starts up again. Although I guess it still won't really help out the Martha/Logan part of the fandom... woes. Although I guess Aaron is still in the secret service, so we might learn about Martha through him?

I am thinking that they will just have Aaron be in the background again and nothing about Aaron and her because it would be inappropriate for a secret service man to get involved with a First Lady. HOWEVER, I hope I'm wrong so we do get Martha scenes. I'm thinking I should switch to a new couple...like say Jack/Audrey hehe.

Nah! My fervor for M/C might be cooling but I still love the this shipping so much that it compares to all rest. I probably just need a break from pushing so hard for them.

It comes on at 12 pm here on the weekends but now I put it on my schedule to watch because I love to see how the characters handle each crisis. Brings back the old days of voyager but this time with humor :) So glad I read your journal about this series!
