Actually got some things done today!!

Well, our Fed Ex box goes out today so I had to send up the signature cards I completed and the ATM cards I finished.  Also some IRA rollovers that HAD to be sent directly to that department before they can complete the process.  Squeezed it all in and was able to enjoy Zaxby's delicious Bourbon Chicken Sandwich.  Seriously! If you have a Zaxby's nearby, go try that sandwich now!  I'm getting another next week :)  My coworker and I were laughing so hard at the end of the day because we're in charge of the signature cards but we're the only ones opening accounts since we're so short staffed. Amazing what makes you laugh when you've had a tough day.

Well, I got home and realized that nothing good was on TV tonight so persuaded my brother (bribes of that Bourbon Chicken Sandwich which he tasted when I brought half home) to go with me to see Deja Vu.  It was playing at our $2 movie and tonight was perfect to see it since tomorrow I'll be watching CSI, Grey's Anatomy or Shark.  We went expecting one thing...and discovered something else entirely!!  I knew the movie would be good because it was by Jerry Bruckheimer.  He always does a great job mixing romance, action, and REALLY REALLY cool shots.  Now a lot of critics dissed it because they said it was TOO complex and long.  Well, I'm sorry to say but they just don't like to think during a movie.  I DO and loved picking up all the clues as we connected the past with the present and tried to connect all the dots logically.  It was an amazing exercise in intellectual detective work and so worth the effort.  Basically Paycheck meets The Prestige :)  First off, I really liked Denzel Washington in the role because he brought a depth to a romance that would otherwise have been just so so and the moments when he was falling in love with her were so poignant that I'm going to buy the movie because that's how it should be done!  A few stolen moments when the characters think "I could really see myself spending the rest of my life with her" or "I wonder what she would think if I asked her out."  The special effects were amazing as they watched the past through a wormhole and the buildup to the ferry explosion was so perfect that you really felt the loss when it occurred.  Caviezel was just scarey as the marine turned terrorist but he did a believable portrayal and pulled it off quite well.  Over all, I would give it five stars out of four :) Yes it was that good!

And then I had time to watch another old CSI episode.  This one entitled Crate 'N Burial (Episode 1.03).

Brass was back to his usual self now that he had been humbled by being transferred out. I like him better like this.  Grissom was giving Nick a hard time but it was quite cute in a way.  What really gets me is the chemistry between Grissom and the other two woman.  The guy is really good hehe.  First he has hot, sexy chemistry with Sara and then warm, friendly chemistry with Catherine.  It's so funny.  I thought it was great to see T'Pol in this episode as the trophy wife (Jolene Blalock).  I kept telling her to go back to Star Trek...she really isn't that great an actress but the whole elaborate kidnap plot was fun to watch.  However, the old grandfather and his son (Smallville guy!) were EXCELLENT!! You felt so bad when the grandfather tried to take the fall but the evidence never lies.  There was a moment between Catherine and Warwick where I could see potential chemistry develop between them.  Still in its nascent stages :)  What I really like about CSI is that it combines good drama with action where as Law and Order is just about the crime, CSI is about the people and the crime :) Good mix!

Well, time for some lyrics that I'm currently really into.  I've discovered a number of songs by Kelly Clarkson that I've fallen in love with...she almost has a Nickelback flavor to her vocals.  Anyways, I really liked this song entitled "Because of You" since it seems to come from Martha's point of view and how much damage Charles did both her and their relationship.  She now realizes this and is able to put it into words...
