Well, first things first. Today was supposed to be my big date and guess what? He hurt his knee and we’ll have to reschedule. Dang, if I’m not happy. You see I was thinking about it over the last couple days and he’s not really my type. I want someone who I can talk to about deep subjects and is just as much a geek as I am. Somehow I don’t think this handsome, fit Marine is that kind of man. At any rate, this meant I was able to enjoy the rest of my weekend in peace!

So after sleeping in till noon I decided to finally finish another Magnum P.I. DVD. My Dad really wants some of his to come in but they won’t till we finish the first season of Magnum P.I. There were four shows on this disc but each has two parts so really two shows. The first two were the best featuring the Simon & Simon brothers from that popular TV show. I LOVE crossovers :D

So in “Ki'is Don't Lie” (Ep 3.3) Higgins is having a charity auction that is using a cursed Ki’I that must be returned to its mountain home before those who touch it die. Morgan Fairchild is so pretty in this episode and has the softest voice. You can see Higgins likes her right away because she is so elegant…too bad she’s such a villainess…they’d make a nice couple. At any rate, I did like seeing the Simon brothers one up Magnum and his pals as the two are the perfect team to go head to head with Magnum, Rick, and T.C. Then Higgins going out on his own after the woman who stole his money and his dignity was priceless!

Then I saw the conclusion which aired on Simon and Simon and was entitled “Emeralds Are Not A Girl’s Best Friend.” What I liked about this episode was how it was how to con a con man…or con woman in this case. The Simon brothers and Higgins are in South America where Morgan Fairchild is best friends with the President and Americans are not that popular. I loved Rick’s plan to have AJ come on to Catherine and talk about a non existent emerald mine. Then have Higgins make an appearance at the bank so she wouldn’t return the money but take it with her. When Rick ran into trouble with the guerillas I thought he was in trouble for sure but they ended up having a drinking party right on the spot . Got to love those guys!

Then there was the two parter with Sharon Stone called “Echoes of the Mind” (Episode 5.1 and 5.2). The whole thing was just bizarre with Magnum thinking he has some psychic connection to this woman called Diane Dupres who has an evil twin sister named Diedre. Meanwhile Higgins is getting married and she’s a beautifully elegant woman who wants him to renounce his title so she can keep hers. Poor Higgins must make a decision: marriage without his family name or a life alone with his title. I did like how he went to Magnum for advice on women because of his…experience. *giggles* Best surprise of the episode: Higgins has an Irish half brother. Most predictable development: Diane and Diedre are the same person.

However, I actually DID go out today and finally saw HAPPY FEET!!

Oh that movie is so adorable!! Singing and Dancing Penguins!! What more could you ask for!!! Then there were the macaroni Penguins from Spain…checking out the ladies, forming their own gang, and just cracking jokes left and right. Robin Williams is so talented to play Ramon and Lovelace! I liked how you weren’t sure if the movie was going to end on a tragic note. First it looked like Mumbles would be lost at sea trying to stop the humans. Then stuck in a zoo for the rest of his life. I also thought they’d kill Lovelace with the plastic soda necklace to prove the point that we shouldn’t litter because it kills wildlife. Fortunately they stuck with a happy ending :D The dance choreography was awesome, the singing was fantastic, and the whole movie just rocked the house. If you’re feeling down and out, go see this movie to lift your spirits!
