I learned something very interesting tonight while watching the last two shows of House. I've always wondered why certain pairings work for me and others don't and it wasn't till I saw Stacy and House together at the end of last season that I found the secret to the perfect pairing. You need someone who is your equal in both arguments and love. It's easy to be tender with someone during that romantic scene but it is much harder to be a worthy adversary during a confrontation one. That's why I have a problem with Audrey/Jack and Martha/Aaron...I just don't think Audrey is an equal to Jack when they have an argument and Aaron is too quiet to stand up to Martha. Nina was good for Jack because she COULD stand up to him and Charles does the same with Martha. As Stacy does with House...but more on that later J

Still enjoying my time off! Slept in till noon again...I'm so lazy :P Anyways, I spent a lot of time on Live Journal again and wrote the first story for 100_situations. Still waiting for approval but the prompt table has me VERY excited. The first one was “tired” and I wrote a nice little story about Charles coming home late from some union negotiations when he was lieutenant governor and inadvertently waking Martha who reveals that she’s getting tired of the political life but then backs away from what she’s saying at the last minute. A nice little foreshadow of what’s to come J The next one has me REALLY excited though because I started off with an idea of them getting robbed in a back alley (that’s the prompt!) and Charles playing the hero but have decided to go with the less conventional idea of Martha finding herself alone in a back alley after one of her breakdowns and Charles finally coming to her aid to bring her home. Should be a lot of fun to write!

Ok now for some thoughts on the House episodes I watched!

So I saw this GREAT video at

ablog_ortwo’s journal on Stacy and House and I just HAD to see the episodes I had with them two and the chemistry there simply blew me away. It’s not as good as the one between Martha and Charles but dang! if it isn’t close J The way Hugh Laurie and Sela Ward play their scenes…no words, people, no words!! They captured all the underlying currents of a relationship where the two people love each other but can never be together. Sela Ward is an AMAZING actress…I love seeing her struggle with her feelings for House while remaining true to the husband she’s married. I love that she knows him so well that he can’t play his usual mind games. I love that she’s a lawyer and that’s why she’s so good. I also love that she has a tender side that she only shows at certain times so it’s treasured all the more. And I love the way House is with her. It’s sort of like when he’s with Cameron except SO MUCH more deeper and tender…he’s this way with no other woman and it’s so lovely to watch.

 

And here is where I can finally diagnose his interactions which each of the three women in his life. Stacy was obviously his first love and he seems to never have gotten over her. I think that’s really sweet that he’s stayed faithful to the idea that she’s the only one he’s truly loved by showing a side of him that no one else gets to see. The reason why she will always be better than Cameron or Cuddy is due to the fact that she embodies both. She won’t let him get away with anything so he enjoys that mental stimulation. She also can be tender and concerned for his welfare when he needs it most, even when he pushes her away.

Now Cuddy definitely stimulates House intellectually and sexually, their little verbal matches is proof of that. However, she never shows the gentler side that House loved in Stacy so I don’t think he could ever share the same connection like he does with her. However, I do think they might end up in bed together one of these days. He shared the kiss with Cameron because theirs is more of a romantic type love where the connection between House and Cuddy is more sexually oriented. We shall see what the writers do…

Cameron, on the other hand, continues to intrigue House by playing his game and being tender with him at the right moments so he does end up showing his softer side in hidden moments. Nevertheless, where Stacy would step up to the plate when he becomes incorrigible and a pain in the butt, Cameron backs off and become intimidated by his cutting remarks. If she would just confront him like Stacy does, she could capture his heart once and for all. House is most happy when he has a sparring partner or someone who can argue with him on his own level and so far Stacy seems to be the only one who can do that.

So enough of this diagnosis of relationships and on to a fun meme I’ve been meaning to post for weeks!

What's the funniest episode? Only saw 3^rd season so “Tricia Tanaka is Dead” Hopefully, Jack…he’s more stable.
Would you side with Locke or Jack? Jack…he seems more reliable. Locke tends to go off the deep end sometimes. I might also want to play both sides against each other :D

Who is the ...
Funniest? Hurley Ben. Always great to have an in with the leaders.

Be enemies with? Michael…from what I’ve seen and heard of his character I don’t think I’d like him very much J

Possibly kill? Michael for above reasons and Claire…she really doesn’t seem to serve much of a purpose.

Kiss up to for favors or supplies? Sayid, Locke, and Jack. They still seem to have a sense of honor where as Sawyer would make me do something embarrassing for whatever he had. Juliet and Ben if in the Others camp. They seem to know everything J
