ladyofavalon77: (Martha (You Make Me Happy))
[personal profile] ladyofavalon77

So another action packed Monday. There was 24...there was Prison Break…there was Dancing with the Stars. How does a girl choose? And Heroes wasn’t even up! I don’t know what I’ll do when it returns. All I know is that all through work today I was looking forward to turning on the TV and watching my favorite shows. And I still have to see Dancing With The Stars which I taped!

So brief recap at work. STILL behind on filing but plan to catch up this week now that Tally is back :D Pretty productive day with lots of visa apps but they mean nothing since we need RSV’s and DDA’s. Oh well, we still have a few days left in this month. Hopefully, we’ll make it by then. I think I need another vacation. Just some free time to chill. At least my late day is tomorrow! *happy sigh*

Ok on to the reviews for there are some good parts!

Prison Break first! This one was appropriately called “Fin Del Camino” (Episode 2.21) which is End of the Road in Spanish. What I really liked about this episode was all the twists and turns it took that I wasn’t expecting. First, I thought Kellerman killed himself and I was like “Noooooooooo” I really like his character a lot and I want to see him with Caroline Reynolds. Then he had a GREAT emotional scene with his sister and came at the last minute to save Sarah’s bacon. Wonder how that will work out since he tried to kill her and then she tried to kill him and if she wasn’t seeing Michael they might make a great couple J

Then Sucre gets stabbed by T-Bag and looks like he’s on the brink of death. I never believed Michael would kill T-Bag because he’s not a cold blooded killer but they can always surprise you. Glad they didn’t. T-Bag’s little trick with leaving the three guys with a dead prostitute and the weapon was pretty crafty. Only wish Michael had stabbed him below the waist instead of his hand. And poor Lincoln! Trapped with Mahone after that quick double switch when the guy wasn’t looking. Captor to captive before he knew it. Only one more episode till the finale and I hear they go international next year. Can’t WAIT for that to happen!

Now for some quality time with Jack Bauer J

Ok this episode (6.15 “8:00 PM to 9:00 PM) definitely felt more like 24 than the previous ones. Not as good as last weeks but still some stellar scenes. Unfortunately, I still miss the Logans so the anticipation each week has lessened…hard to watch when your favorite people are gone and no one good to replace them. Anyways, on to the good stuff. When I first heard Jack was going to work with a mentally handicapped person, I saw visions of sharks jumping the 24 logo but it actually turned out to be one of many touching scenes in the series. The actors who played the brothers did a beautiful job and the way Jack was with the disabled guy was very nice indeed. I love it when his voice goes all soft to persuade the person he needs their help and he’ll do everything in his power to protect them.

The other great scene was between Noah Daniels and Karen Hayes and Noah Daniels and Wayne Palmer. First, he gets angry when his assistant tells him about Karen’s plan to wake the President from the coma. I just love the way he rings up the doctor and tries to pressure him to stop but the doc stands firm. Noah’s anger at Karen’s activities is just pent up sexual frustration…we all know he wants her *wink* Karen Hayes/Noah Daniels=New OTP of 24 :D Can’t wait to see next week because now Daniels is going to try to get Wayne removed by the long over due 25th Amendment. The phone call between Wayne and Daniels was tense and filled with unspoken threats that I had chills watching the exchange. Please let Wayne die this season and let Daniels take his place!

So time to share some new lyrics. I bought this collection of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs and there is this one from his musical “Song and Dance” that I have fallen completely in love with. It’s entitled “The Last Man In My Life” and basically it says everything I would want Martha to think after her reunion for Charles. As a bonus, you can also use it for her new life with Aaron. Whichever is your preferred ship J

So if you have time today, check out the song if you like music from these big sweeping operatic epics :)

The Last Man In My Life by Sarah Brightman

I'm a lady when you kiss me,
I'm a child when you are leaving,
I'm a woman every time our bodies meet
complete.

Long lost feelings stir inside me,
used to think nights were for sleeping,
being wanted is a thrill I never knew
till you.

Now I'm alive, inside I'm glowing,
I'm how I want to be,
loving you I can be me,
just me.

It's the first time when you touch me,
now I long for rainy mornings,
I am certain you're the last man in my life.

I'm a woman every time our bodies meet
complete.

Long lost feelings stir inside me,
used to think nights were for sleeping,
being wanted is a thrill I never knew
till you.

Now I'm alive, inside I'm glowing,
I'm how I want to be,
loving you I can be me,
just me.

It's the first time when you touch me,
now I long for rainy mornings,
tell each other to find all we're looking for
and more.

Found the rainbow I was after,
no more dreams with one face missing,
I am certain you're the last man in my life.

How much you want to bet that I can beat you in poker, Jack?

See, after reading this, I feel like I should have payed more attention to the scenes Jack was in. But I did pay attention with the Karen/VP scenes, and you are so right! Although I do feel guilty breaking up Karen/Bill (although I also want Bill/Nadia, which at least Nadia doesn't want to blow people up...)

And good luck with work this week!

*giggles*

Yay, we converted another! Well, we're not breaking up Bill/Karen...let's just say we're looking at other possibilities till they're reunited *wink*

I can't get on board the Nadia/Bill train only because she is really wooden as an actress and James expresses things so much better than her.

Yeah, that scene was Jacks first "nice" interrogation. Wasnt it so bizarre to see him question someone with a smile and a pat on the shoulder?

It was alot more like a S4 or S3 episode. The tone i mean. And i actually cringed when Palmer was awake and kicking. I was hoping he'd be out all season. So we'd have Powers Boothe rocking our 24 world for the rest of the season. He and Tom Lennox are definitely the suprise hits of the season. I knew of course Powers Boothe would be great. But after seeing a disappointing character for James Cromwell to play, i thought they may fuck up Boothe's character too. But obviously, they SO didn't.

Hehe

It WAS bizarre to see him so nice and caring...but a nice change!

Yeah I kind of cringed when he awoke as well. Tom and Noah are AMAZING together...let's hope you're right and Wayne lapses back into a coma so we can have Noah :D

Sarah Brightman wins at life.

And I totally fell asleep during 24 last night, ten minutes in. First time EVER.

O.O

Yeah I think that tells us something. Hopefully it will get better as the season goes on. I got a peek at the season finale and can't wait to see how it plays out :)

Okay I was going to chastise you for you Daniels/Karen comment but................

I read some spoilers on the 24 message boards & feel like dying at the moment...I just hope they are fake because I'm so hurt with what I read....

But I do miss the Logans, too..

Yeah :(

If it's the spoilers at the 24 community they are sad for Karen and Bill this season but I'm looking forward to how they resolve next season! It reminds me of Tony/Michelle alot and at least both are good people so it won't last for long.

There's just something about two powerful people getting together ;D

I really liked the Karen and Noah scenes as well. I can't part with Bill/Karen because I love them, but I'm looking forward between more interaction between Karen and Noah.

The scenes with Jack and the handicapped man were surprisingly good. It's nice to see Jack's softer side once in a while.

Yeah...

Bill and Karen are my number 1 ship but Karen/Noah comes second until she gets to work with her husband again. There's a lot of stories to be written for each one!

I too liked Jack's softer side. Makes him 3 dimensional :)
