Ok with all these changes in my favorite shows it's great to know I can rely on one to make me happy hour after hour! Dancing with the Stars has returned and it's better than ever!! Oh I love this show so much it's crazy!! I just finished watching the second half of the two week competition before they kick someone off and they are all so good. Where can I start taking ballroom dance classes?
Now back to what I really want to talk about...Ballroom Dancing!
So the dances for Monday were the Quick Step for the guys and the Mambo for the girls. After seeing them all, the favorites are clearly Laila, Joey, and Apollo. However, my money is on Laila because she can be both elegant and sexy on the dance floor while dancing with ease but at the same time a sense of feminine power. It's a wonder just to watch her. The mambo she did with Max! Gah! I need to see that again! Joey was not as good with the Quick Step because he's really a Latin dancer...he just cannot be serious for one minute. He hit all the choreography spot on but his style didn’t fit well with this type of dance. Maybe he’ll improve. Apollo was the BEST quick step of the night while his Latin was a tad awkward. I just love the way he and his partner easily slid across the floor.
Other worthy mentions include John and Edyta. He might be old but they put a karate kick in there and he really kept up the pace of the quick step. They always tell a nice story with their dance. Ian and Cheryl were just not exciting compared to the rest and it’s not for Cheryl’s lack of trying…it’s her partner who has trouble loosening up. He has potential though. Heather Mills also did an amazing job thanks to Jonathan…you would never know she only has one leg thanks to his great choreography and her guts as a dancer. I was hoping Barbie and Ken or Billy and Karina would get eliminated because it’s just strange to watch them dance but unfortunately it was Alec and Paulina. Not Alec! I loved him from first season L And he really could have helped her improve if given time. She’s so elegant and pretty! Next week is the Jive and Tango.
Then there was a soldier, a disease, and a House/Cuddy showdown.
Why is it so hard to find good poetry nowadays? It seems everyone prefers this post modernist crap that is not elegantly worded and beautifully expressed like the words of Byron and Shelley. I mean check out the poem below and it could not have been more beautifully written. I know I know...it's just an opinion...like art :) However, falling in love makes so much more sense when the person you love pens lines like these...I wonder if Charles is a good writer...

"Nothing in the world is single"...I like that...I also love the author's use of metaphors. *happy sigh* It's a wonderful day!
You're not supposed to be here...You're supposed to be in China!!

Date: 2007-03-29 03:50 am (UTC)I'm a bit in love with Maksim. Heeee.
Yay another fan!
Date: 2007-03-29 11:11 pm (UTC)My favorite is Nick Kosovich who sadly is missing this year. His foxtrot with Charlotte Jorgenson during the Danceoff was the stuff dreams are made of. I think he would have been GREAT with Paulina. However Maksim is a close second...he's so powerful and sensitive at the same time!

Date: 2007-03-29 03:45 pm (UTC)The 6th season didn't start yet in Brazil, but I've watched it until the sixth episode :D
And when I read the subject of your post, I just thought about Scissor Sisters! Do know the song "I don't feel like dancin"? Hehehe.
I posted about it on my lj, a long time ago, and I really got addicted to that band.
Well, I'll try to watch 24 to come back here and read every single word of your post, with no fears. hahaha
Eeek!
