Or so they say…but too many choices can drive you crazy. DOES EVERY NETWORK WANT TO DRIVE US OUT OF OUR MIND WHILE WE PICK WHICH SHOW TO WATCH? Mondays are pure heck! Anyways, let the reviews begin! Let’s go alphabetical by network J
First up, let’s dance with ABC.
Dancing with the Stars (Episode 5.1 Ladies: Foxtrot and Cha Cha). I have REALLY missed this show over the summer and was completely psyched to see it back! Hoo-Aaah! The ladies were up first and I LOVED that Drew Lachey was the guest host. He’s so adorable J Maybe we’ll get to see him dance *crosses fingers and toes* The judges were as lovable as ever with GREAT analogies. So here are my pics for the night. First and foremost, Sabrina Bryan rocked the house! I first wasn’t that excited about her because she’s a little big for ballroom dancing but she completely changed my mind. Her dance partner is also new to Dancing With The Stars so when they brought the house down with a cha cha that sizzled and scintillated it was a winning moment! She might convert me to overweight girls after all J Next up was Jane Seymour who is MADE for ballroom dancing. She just glided effortlessly across the floor and was the picture of beauty. Finally Marie Osmond was adorable and REALY knew how to entertain. Honorable mention: Josie Moran. The girl is so adorable in her mischievousness as she dances with Alex J Can’t wait for more! Then CBS had this one show to offer.
CSI: Miami (Episode 6.1 Dangerous Son). FINALLY Horatio gets some family. After his wife was killed last year, I wanted him to have somebody to care about. I must admit I didn’t watch the whole episode but I did see key parts and I couldn’t believe it when Man-Kim (Jack Bauer’s nephew) showed up as the above mentioned offspring. He definitely was dressed better but I’m not sure I bought the whole kid in trouble storyline. He looks too clean cut. They need to mess up his hair some. I did like that we found out Horatio was undercover for a few years and fell for a woman who then disappeared shortly after but named her son after him. It was quite sad when he saved the kid’s butt only for the kid to say “You’re not my father.” Hopefully they develop this more. Horatio was born to have someone to care for JFox wasn’t far behind with some good old drama.
Prison Break (Episode 3.2 Fire/Water). Well, I missed the first episode because I didn’t like the way Sona was set up and I heard rumors of a male rape scene in the season premiere. Then when I tuned in briefly I saw Bellick crawling out with only his underwear on I feared the worst (props to the actor for being willing to go so far). However, I thought maybe the worse was over when I tuned in tonight and it was actually half decent. Mahone is brilliant. I love how he’s going through withdrawals but he can still kick anyone’s butt in a fight. If we can just get him free of the drugs! Michael getting the water to flow was genius! I wonder what the bird book is for and the guy playing Whistler intrigues me. I hope we find out more about him. How they escape from this prison should be interesting and this whole company/conspiracy thing with Lincoln’s “handler” also has my attention. The actress sure has gained weight since Nash Bridges but she still has the most beautiful eyes. Can we have a nice lady for once? Final thought: We needed to send Michael to China to break out Jack Bauer *impish grin*NBC had the most to offer with these three.
Chuck (Episode 1.1 Pilot). Ok I saw this one a few weeks ago thanks to a special at blockbuster that let you see the first hours of each new show EXCEPT Bionic Woman, which was the one I REALLY wanted to see *pouts* Anyways, the beginning was really lame and kind of lost us but the middle…oh gosh, I kept laughing at all the little ways they made fun of spies and superheroes. The actor who plays Chuck is VERY good at the understated humor. It’s like the Office meets Heroes. I’ll probably flip back and forth when Prison Break isn’t on for the laughs. The blonde girl I remember from Mutant X so it’s nice to see her working here and the other bad agent from Serenity. I don’t like his hair though. Best line of the night: You don’t want to leave the safety of the herd (Chuck works for the Nerd Herd aka Geek Squad from Best Buy)
Heroes (Episode 2.1 Four Months Later). Hmmm, lots of stuff to talk about here. The premiere was definitely strong but not wow! First off, they continue to kill my favorite characters. First Linderman and now Hiro’s father. Curse those writers!! Best new character was played by my buddy Sark who does a brilliant British accent if I do say so myself. He mixes enough humor with seriousness to portray the perfect anti-hero. I can’t wait to see more scenes with him and Hiro. I also like the Swordsmith’s daughter…she has spunk! Parkman is FINALLY more interesting thanks to his relationship with the little girl who can find other heroes. I loved that HRG still owned every scene he was in from the one with Clair to the one at the Staples look alike company. The man kicks butt and doesn’t have any powers. Then his plan with Suresh…awesome! Omg! Claire’s new boyfriend…STALKER!! And I’m not the only one! Talked to some people on the message board and they agree. WORST casting ever. Finally, why was Peter locked up and where has he been? Sure has built himself up over those four months. One last thing…Nathan needs to shave…NOW! The beard is NOT pretty.
Journeyman (Episode 1.1 A Love of a Lifetime). Well this one was easier to get into but I don’t think it will last. It lacks a fire and punch that most people like in their shows. The actor is really good and I like his chemistry with his wife and lost love. The time traveling is always fun. I also liked how saving the guy once still didn’t make things right and then he runs into the girl he loved but died while in the past. She seems to know something but can’t tell him. Exchanging places with his past self was amusing but I really did feel for him when his wife can’t take these long absences. Poor guy!! They need to pull it together for a tighter storyline but I hope it survives because the premise is intriguing.
Phew! That was a long post but Mondays always are. I’m so glad I have something to write about now *squeee* I hope I find a new fandom among all these choices. See you tomorrow for Cane and Dancing with the Stars!
