ladyofavalon77: (AR (Saying Goodbye))

Fortunately, only two things to watch. I would go crazy if it was as nuts as Monday. Still I missed out seeing a show called Reaper. Ray Wise (Vice President Gardner in Day Five of 24) play the devil in Reaper. The previews look funny. He has that perfect sense of humor to pull it off but still looking quite devious. I miss him on 24. Anyways, on with the show.

Dancing with the Stars (Episode 5.1 Men: Foxtrot and Cha Cha). Well, the truth is the women were more interesting but there were a few standouts in the crowd. The racecar driver Helio was like a Hispanic Fred Astaire and he’s funny, warm and charming too. I just don’t want Julianne to win again. Cheryl should be the undisputed champion! The black guy who is a boxer moved really well too but they marked them down really low…even lower than Wayne Newton. That left me and the audience scratching our heads. The model guy was really funny and would be great to keep around just for grins. However, the one with the fan base and could improve nicely is the Soap Opera star. I think his name was Cameron. Either way, looks like another great season with Dancing With The Stars!

Now THIS show has captured my attention after looking at it more carefully. The website really nails down each of the characters involved and it’s good old fashioned family drama but with an edge of danger which I love. It did not disappoint.

Cane (Episode 1.1 Pilot). Well even if the storyline wasn’t good, the actors are! I mean Hector Elizondo, Jimmy Smits, and Nestor Carbonell are worth it alone. I love how they set the brothers up as antagonists meanwhile the father watches from the sidelines and the other brother could care less. The latter is from Lost and REALLY sinks his teeth into the role. In fact, I felt so bad for him when his father says he’s not giving him the company. The pain was so apparent and visceral that you couldn’t help but feel for him…despite his womanizing and impulsiveness. He’s just a tragic, flawed character like so many who is always taken advantage of by those who are stronger. I REALLY loved the chemistry between Hector and Rita Moreno. New older couple to ship J Jimmy Smits has good chemistry with his wife and I LOVE that he’s faithful to her. Best part of the night: the parallels between the sugar and rum industries as well as the symbolism of the buried body in the cane field. So much room for discussion!

I hope we get more scenes with Hector and Rita. They really steal the show when they’re on!
